We finally get the ability to override layouts in the Joomla 1.6 admin so we're jumping right in to see what kind of damage we can do. We've optimized the Article list, Toolbar and most importantly, the Article Edit page. This allows us to shuffle things around and place important on the content. Check out the different in the layout in the image below. We chopped the distance to the article from 462px to 185px. That's almost 300px shorter!

You'll find CSS3 rounded corners, text shadows, box shadows and gradients throughout AP Lite for 1.6. Using CSS3 allows us to add a little visual flare while ensuring AP Lite is still the fastest Joomla admin around.

New Icons

We've changed the Cpanel, Toolbar and Table icons over to icon sets from Web Designer Depot and Icojoy

Toolbar Buttons

Using CSS3 buttons, the AP Lite toolbar is much more user-friendly. It now has a more tactile feel and is just plain easier on the eyes.
